I'm not sure health coaching is right for my me. How do I decide?
Your unique skills and talents are necessary for optimal performance. If you are not at your best, neither is your ability to feel, look and attain optimal health. Simply put, whether it's to achieve personal health and lifestyle goals or to improve your overall look, you will benefit from your relationship with a coach.
How much time will coaching take?
The time of each coaching arrangement is entirely at your discretion.
Communication between individuals and their Personal Coach will be as often as needed and will be determined on an individual basis. They will be paired with a coach who will remain with them throughout their entire coaching process. Communication can range from every day to once per week or less whether it is by email, journaling, online chat or phone.
We suggest that at least 3 months be dedicated to success coaching. Not only are gains
more difficult to lock in if coaching ends any sooner, they can, in rare cases, be difficult
to see in the short-term of a month or so. The vast majority of the time, even a month is
enough to see some improvement in your situation, but a month or two can sometimes be too short to allow perspective. Change doesn't always take place dramatically, in an earthquake; sometimes the tectonic plates shift imperceptibly, but they do move. At the same time, because our coaching philosophy is that you already have the inner resources on which to rely, coaching rarely lasts longer than a year.
There are several reasons for coaching by phone: coach and client often live too far apart to meet in person; by reducing even relatively short travel time, we keep costs down and your efficiency up; face-to-face meetings, while more lively and pleasurable, are actually more distracting and less efficient in getting to the heart of the reason for the session, and too often can devolve into fascinating, and cost-ineffective, chit-chat; and, last but not least, the benefits of meeting by phone are not outweighed by the benefits of meeting in person. Clients also appreciate being able to receive coaching in the familiar comforts of home or office.
You will have unlimited email access, as well as occasional, substantive instant- or text-messaging (for example, when you have pressing questions from work or want to celebrate something and can't wait). We also want to be available to you in times of crisis, we do not charge for helping you out in anything that would reasonably qualify as an emergency.

The first step is a phone consultation or online “conversation” between the coach and prospective client. The individual provides information about his or her current state of health along with goals. Together, the coach and individual discuss and agree on a primary goal.
The coach designs a personalized program with specific activities to reach the goal. The coaching experience is a exciting and dynamic and ongoing relationship.
The client records progress through an Activity Log which the coach can review and make comments, providing feedback, information and encouragement when online. The interaction accommodates the schedule of the client and permits the coach to be highly efficient in coaching multiple individuals.
Do individuals have to have a serious health issue to benefit from a coach?
No. We know that no two people are exactly the same and individual health status may vary from day to day. Health coaches help clients assess their level of health and well-being and work on the issues at hand, providing the human touch to motivate them toward setting and achieving goals through a personalized plan of action. If clients do need to modify their lifestyle due to an issue such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and/or musculoskeletal injuries, our staff of degreed and highly trained experts can assist.

What is health coaching? How does it differ from other types of coaching, personal training or counseling?
Success ENVY is a collaborative and personalized program that focuses on improving health and wellness. It builds an individual’s capacity to achieve short- and long-term health and fitness goals. Participants interact one-on-one with their coach by email and online journal.
Unlike personal training or counseling, the participant is the expert with health coaching. Whether the individual is working toward general wellness or a more specific health-related issue, the focus is on enhancing quality of life. Coaches guide, motivate, provide customized resources, and help clients to set achievable goals. They do not diagnose, prescribe, or give advice. Coaches use their expertise to provide clients with tools, not opinions.
The coach’s role won’t be just to ask if clients have done their crunches for the day (although the coach will if you want him/her to); the coach’s role is to help clients identify and achieve whatever goals they set for improved vitality and to coordinate the many resources available to them through this and other programs.
